About us
A Century of Craftsmanship and Glass Artistry
Krosno has been creating Polish crystal glass since 1923. From a local company, it has grown into the largest glassware maker in Poland and one of the largest in the world, renowned for quality across more than 60 markets.
Each piece combines experience, design and attention to craftsmanship. The range covers glass for the home, gifting, serving and decoration, all simple, durable and easy to use.
Brand story
Krosno is built around glass, people and place. Designs, technology and customer needs have all changed over the years, but one thing has stayed constant: a focus on quality craftsmanship. That experience shows in how each piece is designed, made and inspected.
Start
1923
Krosno’s story began in 1923, when work started on its first glassworks in the town of Krosno. The works came to define the region and over time, became a symbol of Polish glassware around the world.
1945
Krosno’s glassworks reopened in 1945 and entered a new phase of growth. Production was modernised, the first automatic machines arrived, and output increased. Krosno also began winning recognition from overseas customers in England, Brazil and Canada.
1958
After the war, the Polish government established the state-owned enterprise Krośnieńskie Huty Szkła (Krosno Glassworks). The business grew steadily, adding a painting shop, a company glassmaking school and new plants, with more glassworks joining the complex over time.
'70
Krosno kept growing and its glass became a fixture in almost every Polish home. Just as importantly, the glassworks never gave up manual production, which is highly valued abroad and has graced some exceptional tables.
'90
When Poland moved to a market economy, Krosno was privatised as Krośnieńskie Huty Szkła “KROSNO” S.A. and became one of the first five companies to list on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. In 2001, the Krosno Capital Group was formed, bringing together Krosno and the neighbouring glassworks in Jasło and Tarnów.
2003
Krosno marked its 80th anniversary in 2003, and was honoured with the Economic Award of the President of Poland for its special contribution to building the prestige of the Polish economy in the European Union.
Today
Today a long tradition sits alongside a modern approach to design and manufacturing, and the brand remains a byword for quality, elegance and Polish craft valued worldwide.
KROSNO is distributed exclusively by H.A.G Imports with which it has a long association, and an ongoing commitment to deliver beautiful yet functional glassware to everyday life. As a leading global provider of tableware, glassware and kitchenware H.A.G Imports are proud to be one of the largest wholesalers of KROSNO outside of Poland, and to include a brand synonymous with brilliance within their portfolio.
Craftsmanship
Krosno glass is made by masters of their craft: glassmakers, designers, grinders and decorators who pass their knowledge from master to apprentice, generation after generation, beside the furnace. Their skill gives each piece its distinctive design, handcrafted quality and the benefit of modern technology.
